If you’re in the marine industry, then you know Metstrade is the place to be! The world’s biggest B2B exhibition for the marine leisure industry is back, taking place in Amsterdam from the 15th to 17th November. Here at Sugatsune, we wouldn’t miss it for the world.
We’ll be there alongside all the other exhibitors of marine equipment, materials and systems, showcasing the world-class components we manufacture for superyacht fit outs, marinas, industrial shipyard equipment and more.
This year is a special milestone for Metstrade, too, as the show celebrates its 35th birthday. We’re hoping that means a bumper turnout. And with free registration, there’s no excuse not to book your ticket and join in the party!
Steel and style
Our approach to component design and engineering is built on the philosophy that style and function should always be in perfect balance. This is of particular importance in the leisure marine sector. Yachts and boats are built with an exquisite attention to aesthetic detail, and luxury is very much the priority.
But at the same time, every part of a boat, right down to the smallest component, has to withstand the rigours of life at sea.
From hinges to handles, slides to stays, latches to lid supports, we manufacture hundreds of components specifically with durability in the toughest marine environments in mind. We make extensive use of marine grade 316 stainless steel, the most corrosion-resistant grade available.
Drawing on the finest traditions of Japanese engineering expertise, we apply expert knowledge of mechanical forces, stress and resistance to create products that deliver peerless reliability, and we rigorously test every product to ensure they can withstand the most extreme conditions.
At the same time, none of this focus on durability comes at the expense of aesthetic quality. For us, great design and great functionality are two sides of the same coin anyway – the more you focus on precision, balance and detail, the better the final product will work, and vice versa. You can see this exemplified in our ultra-premium Zwei L range of interior fittings, to which we apply artisan polishing techniques learnt from craft jewellery to achieve a sublime ‘dual light’ effect with high grade stainless steel.
We are also proud to have the Fastmount brand as part of the Sugatsune family. Fastmount is an award-winning hidden panel fixing system that sets the standard for interior fittings in the yacht and boat building sectors. The simplicity and flexibility of our removable panel solutions is perfectly suited to the demands of yacht production, customised interior design and refits, making it quick and straightforward to install wall and ceiling panels in any sequence.
