Casters

Nothing in business and industry sits still. Not least merchandise, materials and machinery. The ability to move things around is invaluable across all kinds of environments.

In factories, warehouses and distribution centres, retail outlets, hospitals and more, Sugatsune casters are trusted to keep the wheels in motion. Simple, effective and robust, our casters are designed for easy mounting on all kinds of units – cabinets, carts, racks, frames, or directly to pieces of equipment.

As with all of our products, we prioritise choice across our caster range. With the option to narrow down your search by rotary mechanism, load capacity, material and braking mechanism, our expansive range offers complete versatility for finding exactly the right caster for every environment.

For us, precision is everything.

Caster Types

Sugatsune manufactures casters in three basic types:

  • Single wheel casters: Manufactured from corrosion-resistant SUS304 steel, our single wheel casters are an ideal all-purpose solution for most environments. Strong and durable, they can handle loads up to 120kgf and come in swivel and non-swivel versions, depending on the amount of manoeuvrability required. A choice of conductive rubber, anti-static urethane, polyurethane and polyamide wheels provides options suited to every floor surface. For a premium solution, our PLN Design Casters boast exceptional manoeuvrability thanks to ball-bearing mountings and a long swivel axis, while the attractive curved design and choice of black or chrome plating make them a great choice in commercial environments.
  • Double wheel casters: By doubling the wheels, we can almost double the load bearing capabilities, with these casters capable of taking up to 200kgf. Like our single-wheeled casters, our double wheel types are manufactured from tough SUS304 steel, ensuring there is no risk of corrosion even in humid environments. Again, they are available in swivel and non-swivel types, with a choice of thread and plate mounting.
  • Ball casters: For ultimate flexibility in motion, ball casters swap wheels for an over-sized solid steel ball bearing, providing complete 360o manoeuvrability. Available in surface-mounted, recess-mounted and thread-mounted varieties, ball casters are suitable for lighter loads up to maximum of 40kgf.

In addition to these main types, we also manufacture a specially designed range of heavy duty casters developed with the very heaviest industrial loads in mind. With maximum load capacities up to 1750kgf, these casters are manufactured from carburised and quenched stainless steel for exceptional strength and durability.

Because very heavy loads pose additional challenges in terms of friction and stability when moving, braking and even getting started, our heavy duty casters come with a number of additional special features, such as shock absorbers and a range of wheel types designed to reduce friction, static and noise. Dampers and ball bearings help to reduce the push and pull forces needed to stop and start laden carts and units, while a foot-operated dual brake mechanism switches swivel on and off for straighter running as well as locking the wheels completely when stationary.

For equipment, cabinets and racks that might only need to be moved occasionally, we supply casters with integrated levelling guides. Once in position, the casters can be locked and raised off the ground, the glides taking over to provide stability on any surface.

Sliding Door Rollers

As a variation on the theme, our sliding door rollers flip the caster concept upside down and use a broadly similar wheeled mechanism to hang laterally opening doors. Designed for the most heavyweight doors in industrial settings, the use of a repurposed caster design has the benefits of strength and durability. Our heavy duty stainless steel rollers can hold huge loads up to 2828kgf.
